Approve SimpleDock in Microsoft 365
Many organizations only let admins approve third-party apps. If your team sees “Need admin approval” when connecting Outlook, a Microsoft 365 admin can approve SimpleDock once for everyone.
Approve for your organization
Sign in with a Microsoft 365 account that has the Global Administrator, Application Administrator, or Cloud Application Administrator role. You don't need a SimpleDock account.
Approve SimpleDock for my organization- 1Review the permissionsMicrosoft shows the permissions listed below and asks you to accept on behalf of your organization.
- 2AcceptYou're sent back to this page with a confirmation. SimpleDock now appears under Enterprise applications in the Microsoft Entra admin center.
- 3Tell your team to connectEach person still connects their own calendar from SimpleDock (Settings → Profile → Connected accounts). Approval only removes the prompt; it doesn't sync anyone's calendar on its own.
Prefer the admin center?
If someone in your organization already tried to connect, SimpleDock is listed under Entra admin center → Enterprise applications. Open it, go to Permissions, and choose Grant admin consent. If you use the admin consent workflow, you can also approve the pending request under Admin consent requests.
What SimpleDock can access
SimpleDock only uses delegated permissions. It acts as each person who connects, and only for their own mailbox. It has no application permissions and no tenant-wide access to mailboxes.
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Calendars.ReadWrite | Create, update, and delete the dock appointment events SimpleDock adds, and list calendars the user can edit so they can pick one. SimpleDock doesn't read or change other events. |
| User.Read | Show which account is connected. |
| offline_access | Keep the sync running when the user isn't signed in to SimpleDock. |
| openid, email, profile | Standard sign-in. |
SimpleDock never reads mail, contacts, files, or Teams data. Sync goes one way, from SimpleDock to Outlook.
Revoking access
- One person — they can click Disconnect in SimpleDock, which also removes the events it created.
- Everyone — in the Entra admin center, open Enterprise applications → SimpleDockand delete it or disable sign-in. SimpleDock marks those connections inactive, and the events it already created stay on users' calendars.
