Sharing your booking link
One public link per location. Carriers book without creating an account, and manage what they booked from a private link in their confirmation email.
Open Location settingsWhere the link is
Each location has its own booking URL, shaped like simpledock.ai/book/your-slug. You'll find it at the top of the location's dashboard, and it's editable under Settings → Details → Share URL.
The slug is the part you control. Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only — anything else you type is converted automatically. It's worth setting to your facility name rather than leaving a generated one; carriers paste this into emails and dispatch systems, and a readable link gets fewer “is this the right page?” calls.
Where to put it
- Your carrier routing guide or shipping instructions
- The email signature of whoever fields scheduling calls
- Purchase orders and rate confirmations
- Your website's carrier or vendor page
The goal is that a driver or dispatcher never has to ask you for it. Every place someone currently phones to book is a place the link belongs.
What carriers do without an account
No signup, no password. A carrier opens the link, picks an appointment type, picks a time, answers your booking questions, and submits. They get a confirmation email — or, if approval is on, a note that you've received the request and will confirm.
Only active appointment types appear, and within them only active booking questions. What you switch off in the dashboard is what carriers stop seeing.
Managing a booking afterwards
Every confirmation email contains a private link to that booking. From it a carrier can reschedule or cancel themselves, without calling you.
| They want to | What happens |
|---|---|
| Reschedule | They pick a new time from live availability. The old slot is released and your team is notified. |
| Cancel | The slot is released immediately and becomes bookable again. Your team is notified. |
| Check in on arrival | If pre-check-in is on for the location, they can confirm they're on track, flag a delay, or say they're cancelling. |
When a carrier loses the email
Send them to /my-bookings. They enter the email address they booked with, get a one-time sign-in link by email (it expires in 15 minutes), and see every appointment made with that address across all your locations — with status, times, and their reference numbers.
This is the answer to the most common carrier call. It only shows bookings made with that exact email, so a dispatcher who booked under their own address won't see a driver's booking, and vice versa.
Booking on a carrier's behalf
Plenty of carriers will still phone. Booking from your dashboard creates the same appointment, sends the same confirmation email, and gives them the same manage link — so they can self-serve from then on, even though the first booking came through you.
Two things work differently for staff bookings, both deliberately: minimum notice doesn't apply, and you can place a truck outside your posted operating hours. Times outside the window are marked so it's clear you're making an exception rather than a mistake.
Common mix-ups
| What you're seeing | What's going on |
|---|---|
| Carrier says the link is dead | The slug was changed, or they have a link for a different location. Old URLs don't redirect. |
| Booking page loads but offers no times | Availability, not the link. Work through the availability checklist. |
| Carrier can't see their booking at /my-bookings | They're checking a different email than the one on the booking. It matches on the booking's email address. |
| A booking appeared that you didn't make | That's the link working. Check the Review queue if you'd rather approve each one first. |
